Ahhh, my first pair of Christian Louboutin’s”… Ok, ok so I have yet to actually utter those words myself but it seems as though anyone that has can tell the greatest story to go along with it. The famous shoes with bright red soles have become the most iconic footwear of our time, recognizable by almost anyone.

My first ‘first purchase’ story came a couple of years ago from a lovely young woman who worked with my sister. As a young professional entering the world of full-time employment, it was finally time for this fashionista to invest $600+ in a pair of heels. She made her way to the department store and there they were…. those fabulous black pumps with the massively high heel (that would go with EVERYTHING, no doubt about it!!!). She tried them on, obviously fell in love and with one swift swipe of the credit card, they belonged to her. What should come next is my favorite part of the buying experience. This is when you get home and try on your new shoes/jeans/dress with every single thing you own, creating endless opportunities for your new favorite item. But in this particular case, that’s not quite how it went. We have all heard of buyer’s remorse but I had never heard of it like this. Rather than focusing on the brilliant item purchased, this young lady focused on the large dent those shoes put on her credit card. She then made her way to the bathroom to purge her body of all bad feelings towards her first pair of Christian Louboutin heels. After that, she was fine and wore her brand new shoes all over town. But I could never get over the fact that she could forever say, “I threw up after buying my first pair of Christian Louboutin heels.”

It was only recently when I was sharing this story with another style maven that I heard yet another unique ‘first purchase’ story. This one focuses on 100% trust. On one ordinary afternoon of shopping with a co-worker, this lucky shopper came upon a pair of shoes that were a must have addition to her wardrobe (they were amazing and Christian Louboutin nonetheless). Unfortunately, at this time a large purchase such as this was not possible. But low and behold, her co-worker of only 8 months came to the rescue offering to put the shoes on her credit card. Talk about helping a girl out… for all this kind woman knew, she could have had a Christian Louboutin bandit on her hands (imagine: a sneaky fashion obsessed girl going from job to job while convincing co-workers to charge designers shoes to their credit cards).

Fortunately, all parties involved were genuine individuals and a payment plan was put in place. In exchange for a pair of incredible shoes, this lucky lady repaid her co-worker in small amounts and eventually fully owned a pair of Christian Louboutin heels. That might be the friendliest fashion gesture I have ever heard.

So, I started thinking…. Does everyone have a wonderful story to accompany their first Christian Louboutin acquisition?? Will I have a marvelous story?? All I know is that I’m excited to find out!
