With Spring 2010 collections available for preorder, including this Christian Louboutin’s Ribbon and Chain Bag ($695 at Neiman Marcus), it looks like I’ll need to wait a few more seasons.    I feel like Uncle Scrooge for saying this, especially since it’s the holidays.  The bag is quite festive looking, but when I think of Louboutin, the word sexy typically comes to mind.  This handbag is more matronly to me.   Now, if Louboutin were to release a jewelry line like the shoe charms printed on this bag, it might be something I would go for.

When Christian Louboutin branched out into handbags a few seasons ago, I was less than enamored.  I was hoping that, with time and more experience, the handbags would become as gorgeous as the shoes were.

Perhaps playing godfather to Barbie for the next year is starting to get to shoe maven Christian Louboutin. His Spring 2010 collecetion of towering platforms boasts lacquered candy colors and pink spiked heels.

The pastel hues certainly have a cool resort vibe, and we’re loving the Oxford lace-up style, t hough some of the lime-green and acqua sling-backs do feel a touch too ’80s flashback for our tastes. We understand the idea of wanting to own a “statement” shoe (and frankly we could probably imagine wearing a pair of these and, well, shorts and a tee … but realistically, they really do feel like stuff of fantasy.

On the other hand, the we can completely get behind the continuing trend for spring of “when in doubt, add spikes” — especially when it comes to these studded ballet flats, which feel like just the right combination of tough and sweet.

News of a Christian Louboutin sneaker is becoming more and more of a reality as Spring 2010 approaches.  Well known for his women shoes, Louboutin is ready to break into the mens market – debuting his first line of mens sneakers and dress shoes.  The Louboutin men’s collection prices are rumored to be around $1200.
